A download is a signal, not a requirement.

How to preserve resource and product context without over-classifying intent.

What the next reviewer receives

Turn the insight into a reviewable action.

01
Name the object

A file click begins with model, revision, and source.

A useful resource event identifies the document, the related MPN, the page that led to it, and the evidence status shown at that moment. A filename alone is not enough context.

02
Do not invent intent

A download is evidence of interest, not proof of a project.

The workflow records the signal without assigning budget, authority, need, or timing. Those facts require a conversation or an explicit RFQ field, not a marketing assumption.

03
Carry the context

The next reviewer receives the resource trail, not a bare lead.

Related products, document revision, page origin, locale, and subsequent RFQ selections form one timeline. Follow-up can begin from the user's actual context instead of asking them to repeat it.
